SAS represents a Federal Union of different research institutes & centers. Through these institutions human and material resources are pooled to provide opportunities for advanced human resource capacity building in research and development of advanced and indigenous technologies. Thus, partnership and cooperation are encouraged with other related institutions inside or outside the country.

SAS awards only postgraduate degrees (Ph. D., M. Sc., M. Tech., and Dip. Tech.) In fields of applied sciences and technologies: engineering; industrial; economics, social, political and diplomatic studies, agriculture, animal wealth, energy, biology and new technology
